Rotherham IT experts, IMS, are helping fellow software developers, Bransom Retail Systems, put greater functionality, improved security and increased usability on the menu.

IMS has forged links with St Albans-based Bransom to provide a menuing system that will be added to their software, which is aimed specifically at independent retail jewellers.

IMS? menuing system will allow users to personalise their Bransom software, by offering a choice of colours and fonts and the ability to create their own shortcuts. Improved security will also make it easier for system administrators to limit access at different levels and view who is logged on, even from a remote location.

Bransom met IMS at the ACU conference in October last year. The company, whose software is the only system endorsed by the National Association of Goldsmiths, was considering a move from their existing Cobol supplier to ACU and was interested to learn from IMS? experience.

Chris Garland, Bransom?s managing director, said: ?When IMS presented their graphical system at the ACU conference we were very impressed with its look and feel. After taking a closer look, we requested their help with the design of our graphical screens and menus.?

Following the ACU conference, IMS was invited by Bransom to demonstrate their graphical software. Christine Lant, IMS? operations director, added: ?This second meeting was a chance for us to show what we are capable of and for Bransom to allay any fears they had about switching suppliers.

?Our partnership is now established and is working really well. We are confident that we can continue to provide Bransom with the advice and technology they need to maintain their status as market leaders and give their users all the functionality they have come to expect from Bransom with even greater flexibility.?
