e-Skills Conference

The e-Skills 2006 conference is being organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Centre for the Development and a number of leading ICT companies.

A major conference in October will be aiming to contribute to the development of a long-term strategy for ensuring that Europe has adequate e-skills in the future.

The e-Skills 2006 conference is being organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Centre for the Development and a number of leading ICT companies.  It will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece from 4th ? 6th October.

Adequate skills in ICT are seen as being necessary for successful innovation and the competitiveness of Europe?s firms.  Delegates at the conference will hear presentations from a panel of expert speakers, including Terry Hook, a senior advisor to e-Skills UK, and have the chance to participate in workshops covering such issues as e-skills certification and training and the development of a European e-competence framework.
